Yessiree!!!  Last night’s class was just as perfect as I suspected.  Exercising their best gluing and X-acto knife wielding skills, nine students walked away with really, really just plain GORGEOUS handbound journals (and felt pretty darn nifty about just how talented they really were!).  A little bit of paper, a little bit of magic…

Our next class involves a completely different kind of classroom mess-making than we’ve tackled before!  On Tuesday, April 6th, from 7-9 pm, we’ll be using old cigar boxes, some glass, grout, and a little imagination to create one-of-a-kind jewelry boxes.  To make it a little more personal, bring the stack of interesting pictures or newspaper clippings, fun paper and photos that have been longing for a home to incorporate into your piece.

The class is $30 and includes (most!) materials!

I have a problem.  I feel TERRIBLY guilty every time I throw away a plastic bag.  So I don’t.  Now, in my tiny little apartment, I have an entire broom closet practically FILLED to the BRIM with the plasticized evidence of every shopping excursion I’ve gone on in the last three months (a girl only has so many bathroom wastepaper baskets that she can line!)

On Tuesday, March 2nd, one of Ephemera’s oldest friends, Lara Newsom of Handmade Pretties (famous for felt and color and everything nice!) will help me and you remedy this problem (because I know that you’re a saver, too!).  Introducing our newest class to the Ephemera Class Schedule : It’s Plastic at it’s Most Fantastic!  We’re using our used plastic bags to make a brand new material perfect for creating everything from purses to jewelry to coasters (ahhhh, so much better than using plastic bags solely to create clutter and a guilt-free lifestyle!).  The class is only $20 and GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, THERE ARE SPACES READY AND WAITING TO BE FILLED!!!

Look at what these girls accomplished!

We’re so proud of our girls and their amazing (almost natural) knitting ability!  Keep up the good work!

Jen Geigley, knitter extraordinaire,  from HeyJenRenee taught the first round of knitting last night to a very eager group of ladies.  The class filled up quickly, but don’t worry if you weren’t able to snag a spot the first time around!  We’re offering the two part class again on January 13th and February 10th!  Sign up now because the spots will be gone in the blink of an eye!

You can interpret the subject as “ephemera is first class” or as “the first class of ephemera”.  You probably already knew the former, but you may have been unaware that ephemera offered her first class last night and it was an inspiration wonderland!  Or at least we think so.  You be the judge.

Artist Brandie Butcher-Isley shared her techniques in mixed media collage and our 13 very instruct-able students created artist trading cards that were the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.  Don’t worry if you missed it!  Brandie is offering another class in January.  Stay tuned for an updated schedule!
